Our drive from Newark was very smooth, we talked to some interesting folks in Allentown, PA, and finally someone who wanted to talk to us about John McCain.
Newark was our first stop after leaving New York City this morning, other then a little run in with some security, we found some interesting people and opinions from all walks of life. Feel free to discuss what you see in the comments!
Times Square had to be below 0, but we got two folks to stop and chat with us. The one thing I’m seeing is, it is either extremely hard to get people who didn’t vote for Obama, or we’re just not having any luck running into them. Our next stop is New Jersey, hopefully we’ll run into some good interviews there! Keep watching!
To keep “episodes” small, I split the New York content into two piece, the first section is who we ran into in Union Square. Again, we’ve had a tough time getting people to slow down the fast-paced world that New York is, but who we talked to had some great stuff to say!
The first stop of my trip didn’t really turn out the way I’d liked. I stopped about 20 people, people were either in a rush or it was just too darn cold for a man on the street interview. Truth be told, after the hour there, my feet still haven’t thawed. I hope this weather won’t effect the project too much, hopefully things go better in New York City!
What you see here at vatchearabian.com/roadtripforobama.com are essentially pieces of what I’m going to make into a feature length documentary of the entire experience. What is most exciting about this project is the fact that I really have no idea how it will turn out. All I know is I’ve been inspired by a historical moment, and I’m leaving tomorrow to become a part of it.

I get an early start on the interviews in my hometown of Watertown, Massachusetts. People were very responsive, everyone we ran into had voted for President-Elect Obama.

Moving to New York changed a lot, and I grew a lot as a person. I’m using a lot of what I learned here.
I’ve got myself busy with a lot of different projects. When I was in New York, I was working very long hours sometimes 7 days a week. The motivation I had before I moved was gone, now that I’m back, I’m looking for that motivation.
Like I’m always saying, I’ve got a ton of podcast ideas, one of them coincides with my new web project, Lonelyreviewer.com, but more news on that as I develop the concept.
